Campbell writes about the comples pleasures we can find in the natural world
by thinking about it, learning about it, and spending time in it. She has
published two books of creative nonfiction, Even Mountians Vanish: Searching
for Solace in an Age of Extinction (2003) and Bring Home the Mountain
(1996). Excerpts from these books and other short pieces have appeared in
several anthologies including, most recently, Getting Over the Color Green:
Contemporary Environmental Literature of the South West(2001) On
Nature: Great Writers on the Great Outdoors (2002); and Sites of
Insight: A Guide to Colorado Sacred Places (2003). Her current project
is a cultural and natural history guide to landscapes. She teaches in the
Colorado State University English Department.
